How can I paint velvet chairs?
I was given a set of wood chairs for my dining area, but found that the velvet seats can not be removed. Any suggestions for painting the seats so they can easily be cleaned if food drops on them? Thank you

Ahhhhhh no upholstered seat is unremovable, you just need to learn now .... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fumo-B6L6l4 if you watch you will see that piping is glued on, first rip it off, then get an upholstry staple remover and tear out all the staples, and if the cushion and batting are still good just reupholster over it, or add some new foam and batting if its too worn.
A nice fabric will be so much nicer than a painted old velvet. or you can dye it with Rit Dye in a spray bottle, be sure to mask the wood as it will also dye that if its not covered. https://www.ritdye.com/2016/03/28/how-to-dye-an-upholstered-chair/ use the color fixer to make sure it doesn't bleed.
