I am a senior disabled woman. How can I clean out a full basement?
Everything has been piling up for years. I have some boxes of my good things which I wish to give some to my grandchildren and daughter. Also, some antiques I wish to sell. The rest is usual gardening, christmas, pails, etc., along with laundry and many empty boxes I have been saving for packing things. Right now I have been ill so nothing has been done.

Consider contacting local schools or churches as they likely have volunteer programs for performing community service projects. Also, contact your (version) of the Area Office on Aging or other groups that represent the senior population. They may have resources to help you get this project completed. Hoping you have success. We all just need alittle help sometimes - don't we.
It sounds like there’s a lot of work that needs to be done. Maybe you could have your daughter and grandkids do the physical work while you supervise, telling them what needs to be done with individual items.
You could start off by having a basement sale. Pull out things that you'd like to sell and let people clear some of it out for you, this should help reduce some of the clutter.
Take it one day at a time and a few hours at a time. Ask your daughter to help you. If your grandchildren are old enough, ask them to help. Since I don't know what ails you, I can only make suggestions. If you can get to your basement (via steps or outside entrance) would you be able to scoot around using a walker with a seat? You could ask someone to bring you a box of stuff and an empty box. The stuff you are going to keep, box it up and label it with the contents. That is all I can suggest at this time.
Hi..
I know must seem overwhelming and so sorry you are ill. You might contact your local church and or ask friends if their church might have a program or group willing to volunteer to help. I know my sister's sunday school class did almost this exact effort for one of their own attendees in KY.
Get your daughter involved.. maybe she can be there the day others come to take items to supervise if you are not better.
Take care and get better
Ebay! It is a Pickers Paradise where Admission is paid by the Attendees, and is: No cost of Ship and Sale to the Seller. Sell anything of value, like you were at a Flea Market.
Then, after all the commodity is Sold, use 75% of the monies to hire persons to clean out the garbage which remains.
In our area there are folks ( usually single moms) who will come and do a clean- out of this nature, if you just let them haul the stuff away and liquidate it how they see fit and let them keep the profits from the sale of the sea of stuff. You can reach out through Facebook marketplace in your community. It is more closed than Craig’s lust. Also I’m very small communities classified ads for ”free” items often run for free. My personal preference is through Facebook Marketplace. You don’t have to tell anyone your exact address Until you check THEM out!
If you are going to give stuff to your kids why not let them work for it by doing the moving of boxes for you?
Pay some neighbor kids to move them.
Contact your church and ask them.

Bring over your family and friends that you wish to give things to, this is a wonderful way to start to clear out, and they do the work of packing boxes and carrying off. You might have a pizza party welcoming them.
