It's not a good idea to use meat or fish as an open compost because it will turn rancid and smell terrible. It will also attract rodents and other animals to your property. It can be done by burying the fish at least 18" underground or with a closed composter but only in small amounts. Click here to read more on this topic. Wishing you the best!
Hi Karen. I'm Cindy. Yes, you can make compost in your garden. Remember to keep turning the compost regularly. Fish parts would be great to add to your garden. I don't think you have to grind them up. The fish will deteriorate and decay on it's own. Best of luck to you.
