The stain around the drain won’t come off w/scrubbing pads or pumice stone. It’s a tough stain. Seems to be embedded.

Jennifer - try pouring white vinegar down the sink, that helps with odors.
Pour bicarbonate of soda into the drain and then pour down vinegar, it will bubble some as it cleans the pipes of plaque build up. Then after a while pour boiling water down do this at least once a week. Inexpensive and chemical free. Safe to use.
Hello Jennifer,
We have found that sometimes fishing at an obstruction that’s found in the sink is helpful to stop the smell and ease flow of water. Even though we have an auger, most commonly we find that our drains need to be physically fished out. Either using an unbent hanger as a refashioned hook or plastic barbed tool from the dollar store to explore the drain obstruction or coating
.
Fishing out the blockage with that in -our experience— to partially involve hair seems to most readily alleviate stoppage in both our br sinks and shower drains.
With a basin under your sink unscrew the 'U bend' if your not familiar with doing this be sure you remember which order you do things! Chances are yous gonna have gunk.. in there. Give it a good wash out with bleach or soapy water under the tap"in another sink" or if it's really gunky dispose of it in an old can or jar. Replace the U bend. As this point you can either use chemical drain cleaner..I'd rather not! I use bicarbonate of soda, a good cup full. You'll hear and see it fizzing, this is it going to work so leave it for a while, anything from 20mins to an hour.. simply flush water down the sink and your drain should clear. It's an idea to repeat with the bicarb. This should help eliminate smells. A lemon is fantastic for cleaning and leaving the place smelling soo fresh. You could squeeze the juice from 4-6 or buy a little bottle of lemon juice from the baking aisle and sour directly down the plug hole. I fill the sink with warm water add the Lemon juice it fills the air with Lemon scent , then take out the plug and wallah!! Hope this helps!
Use orange rinds down your drain and turn on the disposer. It works, my girl friend likes to make fresh orange juice and she saves the rinds for that purpose.
