How do we create a place for plants?

My roommate and I have an outdoor living room created from a two-car carport and it is filled with plants. We live in a home built in the 1920’s with high ceilings and original hardwood floors. We want to bring our plants indoors for winter and still protect our floor. We have thought of several options, but would like an expert decision. Can you help us?

My favorite way was to get the clear plastic under pot trays on wheels. They keep it high enough under the floor for circulation and they are deep enough to catch all the seepage from watering. Makes they real easy to move in and out, and around the room.

As your ceilings are high, and that certainly adds value to any home, you should want to attract attention to this very nice Feature you have

To so do, you can make a group of Hanging Planters mostly anywhere.

I am actually fully researched on this, as I am putting this in my master bedroom, kitchen herb garden, and my back porch, when I fully get 'a round tuit'.

The way you do this stylishly, rather than outdoorsy in the wrong place, is not by using outdoor planters indoors and Screw in Hooks.

    Looks like squat.

'Did they think they were outdoors?' The guests think...

So many jokes, too little outer space to store them...

You ideally want to reproduce my 'hanging terrarium swing' project, [A.k.a. Project Y to X which you will understand before you complete the Y to X Transform]

It seems like alot of work, expense, and an unweilding do, but you need:

    A. 2 Swing Apparatuses usually sold for a porch swing

    B. 1 suitable hanging planter/Terrarium

    C. 1 12", or 16" Round Table Top

    D. 2 Pieces of Heavy Duty Chain you make into a Y then X

E.I 1 Large Heavy Duty Bolt with 3 nuts

E.2 2 Steel Brackets with Screws

    F. 2 small blocks of wood

    G. Superglue

    H. Tape, a Marker and Scissors.

    I. a Manual Hand Drill and a Power Drill

    J. 1 Hole Saw 3/4 inch

    K. Glow in the Dark Pebbles [Optional]

    L. Copper Pipe [Optional] in the shape of a Y

    M. 1 Carabinger Clip

    N. 1 sq. Foot of Quality Felt

    O. An adjustable Wrench

    P. Needle Nose Pliers

    Precept:

    I. You can put anything on a Swing, but a Swing being a Swing Doth not a Sturdy Table Make. A Decor Table is for show, not for Clutter in an Orderly Home.

II. Much alike a Spinning Tire Swing can hold the Tire and a Child Safely, so also, same swing mechanism can hold a terrarium and a decor table, that weigh alot less than the tire and child combined. If it is safe for a child you love, it is safe for a plant you hate.

    Directions:

Although tempting to use a Rope to hang the Hanging Terrarium to a Swing Mechanism by a Makeshift you design the rope indeed will in time: wear, fray and break and then you have a Filthy Mess on your carpet or floor that not even Mighty Mouse nor Rocky and Bullwinkle can resolve, and your better resolve is to use the rope to hang or hogtie the inventor of the hanging terrarium w/ Rope, for the crime of being such a Goon.

Mark pieces of Tape with the letters A to M and place these onto the Parts and Tools listed above.

Form your chain into a Y [for the Latter Transform to an X as a Means to attach the Carabinger Clip Part M to the Chain and to the Hanging Terrarium] with needle nose pliers P and the adjustible wrench O.

If you use the optional Pipe Part L you need to Place the Pipe appropriately over the chain.

You may also optionally connect the pipe [Shark Bites or Solder], as the pipes do not bear weight, those are a mere decorative edge.

Drill a hole in the middle of the tabletop part C that is Large enough for the Base of the Y to fit through.

Then, drill also into F, holes large enough for the large bolt E.I to slide through but the nuts to all stay, [even though you may need to keep those in place with superglue until you get these all in place with the wrench, the hole is best to be smaller than the nut] by using a bit as large as the bolt.

Turn part C over, and fasten your two blocks, part F's to the Part C with Part E.2. And G.

    Let that glue set overnight.

You then need to feed the Y [chain, or pipe] through the hole in the tabletop.

While you Fasten the Bolt to the Two part F's, be sure to feed the Bolt through the Chain.

Of course, to create the illusion that you were dumb enough to only knot the chain and not use a bolt, you leave enough links, about 20, at the bottom to knot the chain.

Fasten the swing mechanisms to the Ceiling Joists.

Fasten the Top of the Y Formed Chains onto the Swing mechanisms.

Voila it is a hanging decor table, much alike a Tire Swing you hang on a Tree.

Because the Chain is Centered, it spills anything placed on it, [if you want it more sturdy you need 4 chains attached to eyehooks placed in the Tabletop at 90°, 180°, 270°, and 0°]

Due that, anything you want on that table needs to Chain to the Chain, rather than place on the table.

It matters not what you chain to the Chain:

Decor Ceramic Mugs in the Kitchen

Old Compact Discs in the Music Room

    Stuffed Animals, for a Child

Cargo Net(s) for an in Attic Stow.

Handguns and Rifles in the Doomsday Zombie Ranch.

Mesh Laundry Bags For the Laundry Room or Bath.

In this project we want to increase environmental oxygen to fill a room with high ceilings with Fresh Air, to Promote respiratory health and Well Being.

To so do we Chain a Hanging Terrarium by the remnants of the chain [used to make the Y, and Transform the Y form into an X] to a Carabinger Clip placed at the intersection of the Y.

To do that, with Chain going through Glass you need to glue some felt around the region where glass would meet steel without that felt.

Once you do that, voila, you have an empty Hanging Terrarium Swing.

You may then start to fill that with Glow in the Dark Pebbles and/or Soil with any lightweight plants you prefer.

So you need not bend as much to water your plant, you can secure those at a more accessible height by adjusting the links.

Voila, in six months or less you will notice a difference in the humidity and air quality.

Using herbs like cinnamon to compliment plants like Lavendar that leave off a scent, will always improve the scent and sense of cleanliness in the room.

Summary: It is not an easy project. But, has anything worthwhile doing ever been easy?
