How to repaint/vanish a wooden door?
My front door was splashed with rain water during a heavy downpour. The paint or varnish (not sure) at the bottom has come off. What paint can I get to repaint it? Is there wood paint?

Your wood door may have been stained and then clear coated. Yes, wood can be painted and there is wood paint. I suggest taking a picture of the problem area and going to the paint department of a home improvement store such as Lowes or Home Depot and showing your problem to one of the more "seasoned" employees there. They will likely have an idea that is better than what I can suggest without seeing what's happening on your door. Rain or water should not affect your door after one rainfall, so perhaps it was finished correctly to begin with. So sorry!
You could perhaps try painting your door with chalk paint. Chalk paint is very inexpensive and one small container goes a long way. I painted my home's front door in chalk paint and I love how it came out: http://momhomeguide.com/front-door-update-with-chalk-paint/
Maybe you shouldnt varnish it at all, If it spots, you should paint it all over.
