Leaking water softener part- can anyone help?
I just purchased a house with a well, and a water softener. One of the tanks for the water softener is leaking, but I don’t know what it is. Can anyone help??

I'd hire a professional to inspect and figure it out. You don't want to mess with what you drink. If it's just a filter or washer replacement, it will be a reasonable cost. If you're noticing little bits of russet colored beads in your water at home, disconnect the softener immediately and call a professional. the tank will require what they call "rebedding", which means drain the filters and install new innards. Water softeners need servicing annually, but you can learn how to DIY with a little research. To cure this situation immediately, it's probably better to call somebody and chat them up about what they do.
While you are at it get a sample of water before it goes in the softner. I grew up with well water and never needed a softner.
I would try calling a plumber. I really can't tell what the problem is.
