Do you want it to also be a privacy fence?
Since pallets seem to be all the craze right now, and they can be had in most any quantity you need for free, you might be able to make a fence from those. I don’t know how high you want your fence to be, but I’m envisioning the cross pieces of the pallet as the upright pieces of the fence. The other pieces can be the horizontal parts of the fence. You can cut the tops of the vertical pieces at an angle to give them that look of fence sections you buy. If you cannot find pallets that will make a high enough fence you can stack them on top of one another.
Farm Stores have rigid sheep fence in 4 foot and 6 foot heights. It has larger, square openings in it that will keep kids and pets out while making the fence less noticeable. We use this for our dog yard and it isn't at all unattractive and it never rusts. It is available in 6 ft. lengths and is affordable.
