How can I make it possible to paint silicone caulk??
The previous owner caulk the logs everywhere, between them and every crack. Paint will not cover it.

I work in the technical department for a very large caulk manufacturer and we are asked this question all the time! Unfortunately, there is no way to make a silicone paintable. It must be cut and scraped and scraped and scraped some more ! Once the majority of the bead have been removed, you may be able to sand the surface of the wood ( with the expectation that you will have to replace the sandpaper very often because of the silicone residue gumming it up). With persistence, it can be done! Good luck!
Try stain.?
Exactly what Jessie said above. It’s a LOT of work but the results are well worth it
Silicone caulk will not accept paint. It will need to be removed and sealed with paintable caulk. Stain won't work either.
