Can you suggest how to make poured concrete surface smooth?
I have a cinder block base and have extra concrete that was added to fill in a porch on the base of my house. Some of the concrete was over poured and looks tacky. I want to get this even and cover it with air-stone. Also the cinder block has some old paint left on it, how can I clean it up?

Hi Felicia. I'm Cindy. If the paint on the cinder blocks is water based, it should come off with a pressure washer. If that doesn't work, you will have to scrub it with a wire brush and a bit of elbow grease.
Hi Felicia,
you can also sandblast or cut the offending bits off with a concrete saw.
Perhaps this article will help - https://www.familyhandyman.com/masonry/pouring-concrete/how-to-finish-concrete/view-all/ . WRT the paint on your cinder blocks you could try using a wire brush wheel on a drill, but sand blasting is still likely the only effective way to get it down to the blocks.
