I would save that job for a pro. There are many ways to hurt yourself with metal roofing, and you probably don't have the specialized tools needed.
If you are talking about corrugated roofing you begin at the bottom of the roof with the first section. Once that is done you can put up the second section with the bottom of the panels overlaying the first section. You’re going to need at least 6” overlay, more being better. There are special nails to put it on with...they have a rubber grommet around the nail to keep it from leaking.
If you’re talking about the metal roofing like you see on farmhouses it is not a DIY project. You need special tools for this such as a roofing seamer, and the tools are super expensive. The link below is just one example of a seamer with the price.
