I would probably replace the surround rather than paint because I don't think regular paint would hold up or allow for cleaning without it coming off. You might be able to have it painted with an epoxy paint but that might cost the same as buying a new surround.

  Restore is a "deck over " product made by many manufacturers. Behr, Olympic, Thompson's, Cabot, PPG, etc. Biggest class action lawsuit is against Behr. What will you do? Has no relation to Rustoleum tub and tile paint kit.

  I wouldn't be in a rush to use a Rustoleum product after Rustoleum's class action suit about their Restore product. Fiberglass surrounds are fairly inexpensive in the grand scheme of things and would also depend on how long you need the painted surround's paint job to last.
