I like butcher block for my kitchen counter.
is there any wood better then other to make the butcher block more durable ! are they better choice over granite or quartz. I like the look with white cabinets. please I need some feed back before I have it done.

I agree with Adrienne. Quartz is a manmade composite that is virtually impervious to damage. Wood and granite require regular maintenance. If you are using wood, teak is best but pricey. Teak has a high oil content so it is moisture resistant and anti-microbial. A regular oiling will keep it this way.
I have a wood counter top and love it. You will need to sand and coat with barkeepers clear coat. It keeps it looking wonderful.
