A sprayer would be the easiest. But a paint brush will work as well. Use light coats to avoid drips.
Here are some detailed instructions. I second the paint sprayer idea! I usually prefer to use paint sprayers on pieces that have more intricate detailing. You can buyer a cheaper one for smaller projects or rent one.
Use a roller with bulky roller like for stucco so it gets in all crevices
Regular spray paint.
