Hi Kelly, I think the paint will eventually wear off with use.
Not in my experience. Maybe another Hometalker has a brilliant solution.
What if the paint were diluted and used like a dye? Also there are additives for painting on cloth that makes the paint more flexible. Sorry I don't know the product name but it is available at craft stores like Michael's or Hobby Lobby.
You could try a couple of layers of spray paint, but I think if it is to get a lot of wear and tear you would be disappointed with the results in no time.
I would just use Rit Dye.
