How to polish granite?
Granite countertops needed grinding down to fit better at the seams. Now it is very rough and needs to be polished. Tried to do it by hand with like a car wax but did not work. What needs to be done?

Personally I would get the stone guys to come in and fix it, an expensive investment to mess up if you make a mistake. But if you must, I would get a multi-tool with diamond polishing pad.
I agree with Sharon. Granite is too expensive to try DIY repairs unless you have all the fancy tools the pros use.
You need a pro with the proper grinding and polishing tools. It's a multi step process. Not a DIY. Who ground the granite for the seams to fit? Never heard of making seams fit that way. Usually adjustments to the cabinetry is made.

Appears you neighbor didn't know what he was doing. A little research and he probably wouldn't have done it. If he's a PRO he should fix it.
