Oh, those pesky rings can be a "pain in the butt". (pun intended) LOL Here's what I do. First I use my toilet bowl brush to push most of the water down the drain. Then I sprinkle baking soda on the rings and anywhere else in the bowl that I want to clean. Next I spray a 50/50 mix of vinegar & water (with a few drops of Dawn) on the baking soda. You will see that it will fizz. I let that sit for a while to do it's work. If it dries, I will spray with more vinegar. The last step is to use the toilet bowl brush to scrub away the loosened hard water deposits that are causing the rings. If necessary, repeat. Once the rings are gone, rinse it by flushing the toilet and you're done. :) Wishing you the best.
Barkeepers Friend powder and pumice stone if you can feel a slight ridge where the ring has formed. That is calcium buildup. Another option is a product call CLR that removes calcium, lime and rust.
