Chalk paint newbie - help! :)
What is the difference between AS light and dark wax? And when or why would you use one vs the other - hope that makes sense? I've never used chalk paint before but have several pieces of furniture that I'm dying to do-over and am very nervous as a beginner. Any tips or advice would be so appreciated. Thanks!

Hi. The dark wax is tinted and will add more of an antique flavor - darkening on inside corners and adding a muddled tint to your light colored piece. The light will not do that. Hope this helps.
Ok, yea, that's what I was thinking after looking at photos of several pieces that had been waxed with the darker one. Thank you so much!
If you don't want the antique look just use the clear coat by Rustoleum instead of wax, easier. Also Rustoleum chalk paint us cheapest.
Hi Mandy,
We can def help you with your dilemma. First, Annie Sloan has trademarked the term "Chalk Paint". That is why you see many companies saying, Chalk type or chalky or similar. We call our paint Chalk Mineral Paint.
The thing that differs ours from others is that ours was made to not require any sort of wax or sealing. It is super easy to use and great for beginners because it is self leveling. Plus, ours is super duper affordable compared with most chalk type paints on the market. Believe me, all our not the same. Ours does cover with one coat and sometimes two depending on the color compared to other brands that require many more coats.
We have a TON of tutorials on our Facebook page, website as well as an excellent FB group that has a lot of very knowledgeable artist that can help you step by step.
