Protect japanese maples for winter??
I have 3 Japanese maple trees, how should I protect them for the winter in Pointe aux calumet, Montreal, Quebec ?

Hi. Mulch up to two or three inches up the bark. In spring be sure and remove. It is not good for the tree in warm weather. Wrap in burlap if they are small.

You should put mulch around them then cover with a blanket they sell to cover trees for winterization. But I think you don't need to cover Japanese maples. But check with a professional or goggle it.
