Try using landscape ties or 4x4 s for legs
I would use thick plywood for the top. You could use sturdy saw horses attached to the plywood with L brackets or something similar. If you plan on using a longer table, I would include a set of legs in the middle of the table.
We screwed ours down to the floor with angle irons.
