There is nothing to do except to put clear wrap under the lids, pull it tight and trim what hangs out. Unless you go buy another better quality set.
Hello! I have the opposite problem with mine...they are so tight I can barely pull them off. Unfortunately there is little that can be done with canisters that won't seal. I agree with Penny. There is not much you can do but improvise until you get purchase another set. Best wishes to you!
Just an idea ... Cars use many gaskets (rubber seals). Could you not measure the diameter of your canister top, and either ask someone who knows alot about cars, or go to an auto parts store and tell them you need a gasket _?"_ diameter and see if they can help you.
... and then glue it on your canister with E6000 or whatever is appropriate.
It is nice to know that you found a answer to your expensive canister problem. Nothing makes you madder then buying something expensive then it giving out after a few years, the companies need to take pride in what they make. To bad that is a thing of the past, when people cared about what was made by them. All the best for a happy holiday season everyone. If by chance you do not find the parts in a car part store try a store that sells things for lawn equipment, they have hundreds of sizes. Take care.
