What size board do I need in my attic for the rafters to spray foam? Also I have a crawl space under my kitchen in my house that was built on in the 50-60s since my house was built in 1873. How do I insulate under the kitchen floor?

If you mean to support yourself....I have four 2X4 sheets of 3/4" plywood in my attic. They can be moved around where I need to get to. For my crawl I used 2" foam insulation board in between the joists. Sealed any gaps with Great stuff spray foam then filled in with fiberglass batts. Also glued 2" foam board to the crawl space walls. Leave any vents open to prevent moisture and condensation.

    Scott,

In addition to what William suggested, make sure your crawl space floor is covered with heavy plastic (at least 6 mil). Overlap seams by 6" and weight it down with bricks or gravel if it is a dirt floor. Also run the plastic a foot up the wall and tape in place. This will help keep much of the moisture down. If it is concrete floor, use 2-4 inches of rigid foam board over the floor and tape the seams. You can use some plywood over that just like for your attic if you need access.
