What color should I paint the knotty pine walls?
This is a very small bedroom and it has way too much wood. And, it's a lot more beat up and stained than it appears...
Not so much the color of wood, what colors are in your fabrics? Start with a pattern of several colors like from an area, rug, pillows or any pattern. Pick a color from that.
Hi there,
I'm Linda. We have brown furniture and elected to use a light beige for our walls with white trim. The reason we did that is to have a neutral background so we could change the accent color anytime we wanted. Right now we have a patterned throw rug with some red so we chose red curtains, pillows and a beautiful canvas print of a sunset with a red sky that has 5 pieces and runs the full length of our sofa. If we want to change the colors in the room, it wouldn't be hard to pick up some new curtains and a different canvas print along with some pillows to have an entirely different look. What you decid to do is pretty much your choice. If you like a specific color, test out a version of it with paint chips in several different shades of that color. See how they look during the day time and at night. Remove the ones you don't like until you find the perfect color that YOU like. :) Wishing you the best.

Blues go very nicely with brown, so do grays. You can keep the trim white. Pick up a bunch of paint swatches and hold them next to your furniture and pick what makes you happy.
A light blue gray for walls and crisp white millwork! A soft yellow with these two colors for accents! Blues, grays and soft yellows compliment well together! NO beige walls!
use lots of samples. Those trendy cool greys may clash with warm brown wood tones. Beige does work with the brown color family but you need just the right shade. Remember to test paint samples in the natural light of the room because light can change how the colors look.
We used a color called Daisy Yellow. It's a Glidden product...here's the link. It looks great with our brown furniture, and our trim is white. I dress it up in the spring and summer with accessories in pale blues and rosy tones. In the cooler months, spice-colored accents and deeper chocolate browns look good too.
