How do I choose a color for my medicine cabinet?

I am remodeling the bathroom and have a very light gray vanity but no medicine cabinet. The fixtures are oil rubbed bronze, should I match the fixtures or find something trimmed in white? The tile is gray ceramic wide plank, shower white carera w/slight gray running thru it & backsplash is light gray glass.

I would lighten the cabinet by stencilling white.

I have a grey/white bathroom too. But, I don't have a medicine cabinet. First assess if you NEED one. Then go with any neutral color -- neutral is always the safe choice --- for liking it in years to come!

Take some white paper and make a frame the shape and size you want and see how the white would look. You could also get a sample of the choices you have in cabinets and paint paper or cardboard and put it up to see what the colors look like over your sink. I wouldn't go with the same as the fixtures myself, but if your lighting is also the oil rubbed bronze, it may not look bad to match the lights. It may take away from the other fixtures since it will be larger than them and will make the smaller fixtures not as prominent. That is just my opinion, I would want the other fixtures to stand out more. If you want it to blend in with everything, you could see if you could get something with one of the light grays in it.

I don't know why you'd want a medicine cabinet to stand out. I would match it to the wall it is on.

I would do a white medicine cabinet to create some contrast!
