What is the problem? A photo would help.
HI Kathy
My name is Linda and part of our home was done with plaster. Over the years, when I've had to repair a hole or a thin crack in the ceiling, I've used regular drywall putty, like Spackle. There is now one out that doesn't shrink so once you put it in, you can just smooth it with a putty knife, let it dry, then sand it to make it blend into the area surrounding it. Once that is done, prime the ceiling and paint it. As long as you sand it smooth, it shouldn't show at all.
My suggestion would be to purchase 4'x8' beaded board panels and install them on the ceiling, then run strips of wood over the seams, creating areas that look boxed in. It will completely transform the space and then the crack issue will never be seen again!
