How do I fix a crack in a stippled ceiling?

Have used a flexible silicone to fill crack before ceiling was repainted, but it reappeared.

    Gerry you need to spackle, tape, sand and repaint. Make sure you don't have a leak. Aloha!

    There are many ways to do this, Gerry. Just Google your exact question - How do I fix a crack in a stippled ceiling? I found many good videos. Unfortunately, as there are so many different ways of doing this you might have to look at a few videos yourself and choose which one you like best.

    Yes, find out why the crack re-appeared - water and or structural issues come to mind.

    DIY stores sell the textured ceiling in a spray can for finishing small repairs.

      I believe the crack was due to not enough supports in the roof structure which has been addressed. I didn't know you could get a textured ceiling in a spray can. Thank you.

    Your problem could be the result of settling, roof issues, or too much or too little humidity.

    Check your roof/ foundation outside this area. Set interior humidistat to no more than 40%. Run a dehumidifier, if needed.

    Sometimes the cracked area must be enlarged before spackling, repainting.
