Hello Brenda, I have had this problem too. I didn’t realize that our newer 2015 garage should’ve been constructed with another type of drywall. I’m going to be mindful of driving my car and with any kind of moisture—- as well as not have things touching the walls. Ventilation is key.
My situation has been helped by rearranging storage as not to be tightly compacted and letting the walls breathe more. My grey light green mold -relatively minor-wiped off with a bleach bathroom spray.
A dehumidifier could be considered.
Use activated charcoal it comes in bags place one or two in your garage..they last 6 months..it is also wonderful in bathroom one bag..good luck..
Better ventilation and a dehumidifier or even a portable fan will help. Try and determine why . . . Are there no vents?
