Most home centers sell pre-made shower units. If you decide to build your own, you will need a shower pan, tile, mastic, grout, tools, perhaps a shower door, and of course detailed instructions. A plumber, and a person to remove the bathtub, a tile installer, the list can be long. I have installed the pre-made shower units several times and they are much easier.
Arlene,. This isn't a DYI project, you need a plumber to install the tub and shower. Did you know, you need to fill the tub with water and let it sit for a day before you caulk? The weight of the tub will make it settle ever so slightly. Then you caulk. Go to Home avisor and find a plumber. Their are several contractors to choose from, and the job will have the cost for this project. This is a trusted site and the contractors are screened. Aloha!
