Yes
Scrape with plastic as much as possible. Then re heat the wax with a blow dryer and blot with a paper towel.
Lay a ziploc bag with ice in it on top of the wax until the wax is very cold, then GENTLY tap the wax with an object wrapped in layers of cloth to break it up. A case knife handle wrapped in a folded kitchen towel works great. If that doesn't work you might also try spraying WD40 on a cloth and dabbing the wax but be sure to test in an inconspicuous place on the furniture first to be sure it won't damage the finish on your nice furniture before you try this.
Heat it up with a hairdryer and wipe it off.
