Is it on the wall or the chair? Try a Mr. Clean magic eraser on the paint to see if that will work, try to just do it on the paint you want to remove, some paint on walls comes off fairly easy when washed.
Hi Jill! Very gently try to remove it with a microfiber cloth or magic sponge. You don't want to remove the wall paint. Just damp, not wet works for me. Unfortunately, sometimes rubbed on paint is hiding the damage to the wall finish from the pressure against it. So be prepared. I've found pushed in sheetrock under marks like that. But, don't despair - use the same paint after smoothing out the wall (use a small roller), and then move the piece of furniture away from the wall (sometimes I put a cushion/pillow between the back of something that tends to get pushed back and the wall). My husband does this with a loveseat when he gets up (he denies it) even though I have a nonslip mat under it. I hate touching up that wall repeatedly, and he resists me moving it anywhere else, so the pillow behind it keeps it from pushing against the wall. Hope that helps!
I would first try a magic eraser. This has worked for me in the past!
Magic eraser should work well.
