Can you paint resurfaced kitchen cabinets? If so, how?
Our condos were built in the 70's. It seems they used the cheapest kitchen cabinets possible. They are resurfaced.
Not if you ever plan to wash or clean them. Need to apply polyurethane. If not it will wipe off.
Yes, there are several colors in the wax seal. They are beautiful. Durable too! Clear, Black and brown ! Test it first to see what you'd like or what color your accents are that you are using.
The only paint that is considered durable for kitchen and bath cabinets is oil base. That is why when you buy prefinished cabinets, they come in oil based finishes like lacquer, oil based paint or poly. Water based just doesn't hold up.
Use an oil based seal for cabinets for durability.
I would NOT recommend using wax on your kitchen cabinets. Here's a way I painted mine with Milk Paint and sealed them with High Performance Topcoat. They had a beautiful finish and held up well. https://rootsandwingsfurniture.com/blog/kitchencabinets/
