Hi Joan. I'm Cindy. You can use shutters to make a room divider. Attach them together with hinges. Just fold them according to the distance you want to cover. You can prime and paint them, or stain them according to your style. You could also run fabric thru the slats. Wishing you well Joan. Good luck with this project.
Before I put central air in my home, I also had a through the wall air conditioner. I put a bookcase over it. I had to take out one shelf so the whole air conditioner was exposed. I then put shutters over the exposed air conditioner. When in use it was simple to open the shutters. When not in use the shutters were closed, hiding the AC unit completely.
