Luci, go to Walmart, or any store that has paint swatches, and choose a few to bring home (they're FREE). After you choose the color, paint your wall with one of the lighter colors on the strip and your accent wall paint a darker color on the same sample strip. I hope this helps you.
You have a lot of brown and beige with what appears to be a red/pink undertone (instead of gray). In that case, you usually go with colors in the pink/orange family. However, you might also consider a soft mint for a relaxing effect.
You could also go with a darker brown with a plum undertone but I wouldn't want your furniture to get lost.
You can go to Sherwin Williams and check out HGTV color brochures. The colors in these brochures compliment each other so it is easier to come up with a color plan for your area and the surrounding areas. Glidden paints also have the same kind of color brochures with complimentary colors and hues and probably all of the major paint manufacturers offer this option for you. It just makes it so much easier!
Which walls are you planning to paint?
Nice program to visualize colors. Upload a photo and play around.
Are you looking for a different wall color that will match with the blue wall/arch in the foreground of the picture? As there is very little in the room behind it that is the same color, or even color tone, it is sticking out harshly.
My advice is, if you are wanting to paint, paint over the blue arch wall to match more with your decor and furnishings.
Thanks for all the help. I decided to go with a mauve and maroon with help from Valspar app. They suggested 3 different options, still not too sure on the accent wall, but not changing it! Thanks again!
