I tried a hint of pouring commode cleaner on my tub and now I have white streaks that I can’t scrub off.
Have you tried a paste of baking soda and vinegar yet?
Easy-Off oven cleaner in the BLUE can works best for me, especially with soap scum and dirt rings. Spray it all over (test on an inconspicuous spot first!), let it sit for ten minutes or so and everything wipes right out!
Depends on what the tub is made of. If fiberglass, use a non-abrasive cleaner only. If porcelain coated steel, Comet is usually my go-to. If the finish on the tub is shot and you're just wanting the stains gone, paint it with the thickened bleach (it's a sort of thin gel version of regular old bleach and is sold in the same area as bleach), let it sit a couple minutes, and rinse it away. If doing the bleach, make sure to wait to flip on the exhaust fan until you are headed out of the room so you don't draw fumes up into your face. Wear gloves and a mask, both to apply and to rinse and wear eye protection when rinsing in case of splashing.
