Finish has rubbed off in spots due to standing water and rubbing.
Hi Bonnie. I'm Cindy. You can actually purchase a "granite painting kit" at your local home improvement store. You will first apply a primer to your counter tops and then use sponges to apply a series of colored paints until they marble together. And, from what I read, is not hard to do. Good luck Bonnie.
One thing not mentioned is you need to scuff the smooth shiny surface with steel wool before priming.

I have never tried painting granite but they do make a product to do just that. Here is a link https://amzn.to/2EciyZc
i used a company called "granite transformation " they laid a complete quartz countertop on top of my granite and completely transformed my kitchen they have granite, quartz, marble ,concrete. no demolishing , just an overlay of your choice . granitetransformations.com i live in the denver area, maybe something similar in your area ..good luck
also called Trend transformations. site says they have many locations
Buy a new one .. there is no way you can paint granite .. or acutally you can use epoxy but that is even more complicated
