How do I prepare & preserve a tree trunk after carving out section?
How should i use to preserve the tree trunk. I want to crave out sections of the trunk to display figurings.

I use a few coats of a marine polyurethane. Helmsman Spar Urethane. I just slather it on with a paint brush. I do wood spirits, moai, and tiki.
After you carve your figurines you can polyurethane to seal it all you'll need multiple coats.
