Hi there, Add another coat!
If it's been a while since it was painted and it has faded, hit with fine steel wool then clean and paint. If it's recently painted, as John said "add another coat".
What does brighten up mean?
Elisha, do you want to keep the color or go over it? I'm not sure what your issue is. Please elaborate.
You could varnish it
Did it change in some way from the original color? Do you have extra paint to give it a fresh coat? If you like that color go to the store and get some paint chips. Find a color that is exact or at least very close and get some of that paint mixed up and repaint.
