How can I get 6 light bars to stick?
I purchased 6 light bars. They come with adhesive backing. Put them on the underside of my granite bar overhang. Up 2 days. One by one they fell off. Company sent me velcro. Up a couple of days and fell off. Luckily none broke. Duh! The adhesive doesn't stick to the underside of granite. What kind of adhesive/sticky stuff can I use? I need something that can eventually be removed. Would silicone or a product like it work? Thank you Resourceful & Creative Hometalkers. Ilene

Do you have a sample of the granite that you can try different glues with? I would recommend silicone - you can get that off. E6000, Epoxy or Liquid Nails would be nice alternatives but they are permanent. Also find out the weight these are, it's very likely that they are heavier than what the adhesives you have been trying can hold.
It might be difficult to get something to adhere to granite, especially if it's really smooth. However, I'd give poster putty a try. Something like this might work: https://www.target.com/p/scotch-removable-mounting-putty-2-oz/-/A-13356391
Try using E6000 glue. In the future you can scrape it off with a razor blade scraper.
Thank you all. The light bars are very light (no pun intended). The underside of the granite is not fabricated. I'm going to try the silicone first. If that doesn't work, I'm going with the E6000 glue and I'll worry about getting it off when I move. BTW, the adhesive is what comes with the light bars. When I called the company, they sent Velcro strips. Wish me luck!
Sticky velcro strips are only as effective as the degree to which the 'glue' is able to stay stuck onto two often different surfaces: the underside of the granite, and the backside of the light bar. As there is no industry or consumer standard to the quality of sticky velcro backing, I would not rely on it to hold anything up without falling off sooner or later.
Thank you Flipturn. Thank you. It is a weakest link in the chain type of thing. Same goes for Command products. Depending on the product and what you are hanging you could find whatever it is on the floor. Also, they don't always come off without damaging the wall! User beware.
