If you want to stay healthy, then - sorry, you can't. Microwaves are extremely dangerous pieces of equipment - possibly the most dangerous in the home. There are multiple levels of safety in every area of each unit - especially the door. If there is something inside that window, then I would guess one of those levels has been compromised. That's scary. Even standing within a few feet in front of a new unit while it is running is not a good idea. Don't take chances with your long-term health. Buy a new one. Your cells with thank you.

Put 1 cup of white vinegar + 1 cup of water in a bowl and set your microwave for 5 minutes. That should loosen all the dirt so that you can wipe it away.
If there is something in between the microwave door glass replace the microwave. The seal has been compromised and it can leak microwaves within a few feet of it. This is a dangerous and very unhealthy condition.
Thank you all! I believe we will replace it.
