Mock orange won't bloom

I have a mock orange tree-bush that is about 4-5 years old. It has never bloomed. It's aabout 7' tall. Does anyone have any tips for how to get it to bloom?

Susan, have you ever pruned your mock orange? How much sun is it getting? What about fertilization?

Douglas, I have never pruned it or fertilized it. It doesn't get much sun. It said it needed part to mostly shade so it only gets about 3-4 hours of sun a day. It's very leggy, so that's probably a sign that it needs more sun. It's way to big to transplant, though. Do you think pruning and or fertilyzing would help? If so, do you recommend a particular type of fertilizer for this application? Thanks so much for your reply!

Susan, whoever said that about mock orange steered you wrong. They might tolerate partial shade, but they are going to bloom better (which is why you want this plant) in a mostly sunny situation. Fertilizing won't hurt the plant (use a good slow release like Plant Tone), but I doubt that it will get you blooms.
