Caulking
There is foof caulking at your local home depot, Lowe’s stores in clear or black.
Brown colored caulking.
Wood shrunk. Go with the colored caulk. Needs to stay flexible to allow the wood to expand and contract without cracking or warping.
Small cracks between wood shingles is normal. When it rains the water swells the cracks closed. What to look for is, if cracks line up with the cracks of the row of shingles below, water can leak thru. The fix for this is to cut sheet metal flashing into 5” x 7” pieces and slip them under the cracks above to seal it from the cracks below. This is a friction fit, no need to nail them in place.
I would use roofing tar as it comes in a tin or in tubes for easier application.
