How do I sew false roman shades for a 2 feet bay window?
I would like to sew false Roman shades for a 6 feet wide bay window. The shades should only be 1 foot in length. I am wondering if I should make 2 3 foot shade or 1 Roman shades would be okay. Any recommendation ? Thanks!

Hello Sarah
Either would work, but it depends on the look you want. Country - use Two.
Smart - use 1. Attach folded ribbon to back of top slot seam (one to go down back and other to go over the top and join other and form bow) Use as many bow ties as you feel looks right. Enjoy...........
Hi Sarah!
I know that either way would work well. Here are some ideas for you.

Faux Roman Shades
Ok just a couple of questions...You said it is a bay window? Does that mean that there are angled windows on the side and one long 6 ft. window in the middle like a traditional bay window? If so, I would make the 2 angled windows with their own shades and the long 6 ft. window in the middle with it's own shade. If there is just one long 6 ft. window, I would make one long 6 ft. shade. You have to be careful though because fabric is usually 54 inches wide, and in making a 72 inch wide shade(6ft.) you will want to split the fabric in a strategic way where it makes sense like on the sides. Patterns can be tricky to match up as well. So if you want to avoid all of that noise....2 shades; 3 ft. wide. for your long 6 ft. window would work fine as well.
Lots of great comments!
