How to keep mold/mildew off of painted surfaces on screened in porch?
Following scrubbing & painting wood sections of screened-in porch, dark mold or mildew return after 1-2
years of exposure. Is their something I can spray on periodically to prevent (or retard) the return of this
blackening substance?

Southern Traditions: Why Did My Grandmas Sweep Their Yards?
My question as I watched these grandparents was always, "Why are you sweeping your yards, and why is there no grass around your house?" We have grass around ours.
Wet & Forget outdoor is perfect for this. Our front steps used to build up with green slime and I would have to scrub every 6 weeks or so. Then I found this stuff. Last spring when I scrubbed them down (with bleach) I sprayed with wet & forget outdoor and haven't touched them since. I was just checking them Saturday and they are still 100% "green free".
Clean the mold/mildew off the paint, let the surface dry, then spray on vinegar, it kills the mold/mildew spores. Vinegar is really cheap, it won't keep it away forever in moist conditions, but it will help keep it away longer and perhaps keep it away if you spray it on and let it dry naturally once in a while. If you know how quickly it comes back, try spraying it before that time comes around.
Nancy has got it. Vinegar kills mold spores. Clean the surface with one cup of bleach to one two gallons hot water. Rinse well and let dry. Then wash down with one cup of vinegar to one two gallons hot water. Let dry. dO NOT MIX BLEACH ANS VINEGAR TOGETHER.
Instructions:Mix the water and the oil, and pour the mixture in a spray bottle. Then, spray on the areas where mold grows, and leave it to dry.Afterward, wipe it off with a towel, and the mold will be completely gone!
Just something to try from my research in the past. They showed it spraying on a painted inside house wall.
