Is the ceiling fabric or plastic.
If it is a hard surface use TSP CLEANER. It is a powder you put into water. Use rubber gloves. Can find at hardware/home improvement stores.
Mr Clean is good for cleaning just about anything, diluted or full strength.
I am always promoting Krud Kutter original concentrate. It is a grease cutter and more. My husband used it to clean his lawn mower and in cleaning the car motor. I used it on my kitchen cabinets. It takes off old polish, too. He used it to clean a large area in car carpet.
You could try TSP substitute powder in a spray bottle and a rag. It’s an excellent and speedy grease cutter.
I sure wouldn't use TSP for wood, its for pre-painting to take the shine off the wood. I use Dollar Tree Awesome Orange in the half gallon. Add to hot water and use a car sponge. Wear rubber kitchen gloves as it can be hard on the hands after awhile. It sure cuts the grease and nicotine too.
