Terrible build-up of mold in my humidifier tank, very hard to remove. Any hints or products available to prevent or clean the humidifier?
Thank you

Just put a little bleach in the tank like 2 tableoons
Hi Elizabeth,
You can use white vinegar to do the job as well or even better than bleach. Here's an article that is all about keeping your dehumidifier clean and with no mold. I hope this helps you. Wishing you the best.

Once you have it clean - change the filter often :-)
I have used a de humidifier in my basement for at least 20 years. As I also heat with a wood stove my air upstairs is dry. So I put pans on the wood stove, and use the water from the de humidifier to humidify the upstairs air without having to clean them of minerals. I add 4 DROPS of bleach to each gallon jug AND add 6 drops to the container on the de humidifier. Works like a charm. There is NO filter on the de humidifier. During the summer I will have up to 35 or so gallons of de H water ready for the nest winter. Been there, done that.
