Hi Bettye. Yes, wine bottles would work great. Besides the bottle, you will need Tiki replacement wicks, Citronella torch fuel, and a brass coupling. Begin by removing all labels and scrubbing any glue off. Fill the bottle with some pebbles or marbles, so you don't have to use as much torch fuel. Then pour in the fuel a few inches from the top. A small brass coupling works well to keep you wick in place. Depending on the thickness, a half to three-quarter coupling fits a wick perfectly. Push the wick thru the coupling about one and a half inches. Place it in the bottle, and let it soak up the fuel for about 20 minutes. Use it outside. Light it up and enjoy.

A washer works well instead a coupling also.
