O2 Concentrator causing vibrations

Lori J on Jun 30, 2012Can't you ask your neighbor? Perhaps he/she has a new machine. Maybe a carpet square under the machine would help to dampen the shake.Helpful Reply

Resident T on Jun 30, 2012Thanks, I purchased two $20 thick rubber mats we put the concentrator on and two heavy folded towels. It did no good. I believe the machine is out of balance like in a dryer or washing machine. The next solution costs too much. I will ask him to have the machine checked by the provider. Problem is he thinks I am making this up so he is resistant to find a solution. I don't even know if he has the concentrator on the mats I purchased.Helpful Reply

Lori J on Jun 30, 2012Oh, that's too bad. It would make life easier if he would just try the mats and let you report back any changes.Helpful Reply

Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Jul 01, 2012If your sure that the O2 unit is making this noise, and your neighbor is reluctant to attempt to fix. Contact your home owners association if you have one and ask them to look into this for you. They may have a bit more luck asking them to do something. Ask them to put the unit in another location for one evening just to see if its really what is causing the vibration that your feeling. I could be something entirely else that is causing this.Helpful Reply

Resident T on Jul 02, 2012I read online that sometimes a power outage can damage/off set an O2 concentrator motor and we had a power outage just about the time I began to feel the vibrations. I have not had a problem in the last 4 yrs. my neighbor has been on home O2 so it stands to reason that is the problem. Especially when I went over to visit and felt the machine in their home. The home in question is the HO president. :( I have ordered some industrial anti-vibration coasters/casters. Something has changed as the vibration is less. Maybe my FSBO sign encouraged him to use the 2 $20 thick padded mats I gave him. Thanks so much for everyone who has offered support and solutions.Helpful Reply
