Pull it. Any chemical you put on this will kill the pachysandra long before it kills the poison ivy.

  • Johnchip Johnchip on Jun 26, 2017

Bet you end up having to pull it. You can also torch it.

Do not torch it. The fumes from burning poison

ivy sent a neighbor to the hospital with an extreme allergic reaction. Hives, fever, blisters , swollen eyes, shortness of breath. Her FB photo was not pretty.

use a small paintbrush and paint any type of yard poison on only the poison ivy leaves. be careful not to drip the killer of the pachysandra. the ivy will die and the other plant will not be effected.

I agree with Gail. Farmers do this on the weeds in their cotton patches The weeds always grow taller and they use a wick sytem on them. Normally Round Uo or something similar.

Roundup makes a gel in a container that sort of looks like a solid deodorant container. All you have to do is rub it on the leaves and it moves through the plant to the roots. I've tried it and it worked; killed the weed to the root. It's not cheap, but a little goes a looooong way.

Use a mixture of vi gear, dawn liquid and water and spray closely not on a windy day

Please don't use Roundup. It is the most toxic application that is used today. It is helping to kill the earth and animals and insects too!

Sorry but roundup is the only thing that kill gout weed one of the worst weeds u can get, as it is systemic pulling it up seems to stimulate growth.

Call a garden center as they have services that kills poison ivy and nothing else. We live next to a large woods and after he sprayed just the advancing poison ivy died and was guaranteed not to come back.

Hello, hope this helps you. Try cutting the vine about 6" above where it comes out of the ground. Put some full strength white vinegar on both of the cut ends by dipping them into a cup full of white vinegar. Do this all along the length of the vines. Repeat if necessary. by doing it this way, you are only killing the ivy.

Cut off near the root and then pour boiling water on it, that will kill the root. when the plant has died, get suited up from head to toe and manually take it out. Dispose of it in the trash. Wash your clothes immediately and scrub down in the shower.

Hi Pbo: What I did was to cut all I could get to and then I got a syringe, like diabetics use, filled it with a product called Ground Clear and injected the vines in several places. Be sure to wear disposable gloves! I also used one of those little foam paint brushes from the Dollar Tree to paint the underneath of the leaves, and the tops, with the Ground Clear. This way, the poison goes to the roots of that particular plant and not to the other plants you may want to keep. Dispose of the dead leaves and vines in a paper bag that you have secured with a twist tie and put in the yard waste container. Don't burn them as the smoke is very toxic.
