Sound barrier board or material for walls?

3po3 on Jul 02, 2012You could try putting "egg crate" type bed toppers for sound insulation. it's not a perfect sound barrier, but the price is right. Here are a couple of other suggestions: http://www.hometalk.com/search?filter=soundproofing&search=&zipcode=#!/13340Helpful Reply

Julie on Jul 02, 2012Thanks SteveG. Ha, he's actually using one right now over the window (temporarily) until he can find something else. It's a good idea, certainly inexpensive. Thx for the link too.Helpful Reply

Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Jul 03, 2012Quite rock is a special order type of item that normally needs to be purchased at suppliers not the home centers. Stuff is expensive, but its not all that you think. Sound travels by vibration. That is why the foam wall system works well it slows down the vibration thus lowering the sound through the wall.
