How to get my house tested for mold?
I'm in the process of replacing all the carpet in the house with tile and hard wood flooring due to allergies. When the tile guy was putting the tile down in the pantry he expressed that the pantry smelled like mold. Looking at the ceiling in the pantry and all over the ceiling downstairs, there's no signs of discoloration. How do I get my house tested for mold to be sure we have good air quality in my home?

You can purchase a test kit. Also, you might try placing a few damp rid products and see if it removes a lot of moisture. If so, that might be an indication of mold or just excess moisture which can produce a damp smell.
Thanks

Hi JB,
My first thought would be to take everything out of the pantry and look for mold. Leave the door open to let it thoroughly dry out because it might just be damp. Of course, you can also use Damp Rid after cleaning it out as mentioned by Kathy. It's possible that something leaked in your pantry and it just needs to be cleaned up with vinegar and water to kill any spores which might be there. Wishing you the best.
